The Haywood 209 Cafe has been open for business since March 2015. The building, however, has been a restaurant under many titles for over thirty years, serving the Ironduff Community in the beautiful border county of Haywood and within the city of Waynesville, North Carolina.

After being closed down for almost an entire year, the restaurant re-opened with a new look and an even better cuisine! Specializing in American traditional diner classics, the Haywood 209 Cafe serves up staples like hearty breakfasts, Ribeye steaks, cheeseburgers, country-fried steak, and seafood specials, as well as, homemade baked goods by our in-house baker, known to us as “Mamaw”, and the absolute best milkshakes you’ll ever taste!

Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; dine in and to-go, seven days a week!

Stop by and be surprised by the quality of food and service that this little country cafe is sure to provide!

**Haywood 209 Cafe is located on Highway 209 (Crabtree Road) across the street from the entrance to Ironduff Road and connected to Sam’s Mart Shell station. Exit 24 off of Interstate 40.

MEET THE OWNER

In September 2017, Drake Fultz stepped into the roll of Operating Partner and General Manager. Drake is an Asheville, NC native who started his career in the restaurant industry by working as a prep cook at Cracker Barrel in his home town. Over the course of a few years, he became an Associate Manager, a position in which he continued for about 14 years. After taking a leap and trying out a few other jobs, he finally landed here at Haywood 209 Cafe and now feels he has found the perfect position for himself.

On his days off of work, Drake spends his time hand-crafting knives, a hobby-turned-business that he began in 2016. When he’s not working at the cafe or making knives, he loves to spend time outdoors and hanging out with his wife, Jessie, and their dog, Spur.

Drake says that his favorite part about working here is the positive environment and the people he gets to see every day!
